Welcome to Miss Johnston's First Grade Classroom! This is my second year as a First Grade Teacher at Jefferson Elementary School. First Grade is such an exciting year because children learn some of the most crucial reading and math skills they’ll use for the rest of their lives. Although I’ll be teaching them new things each day, keep in mind that you are your child’s first and last teacher.  Thus, I hope we can work together as a great team to help your child reach educational milestones. I also have six years of experience as an Intervention Teacher where I helped struggling readers and mathematicians in grades Pre-K through 6th grade.  This experience has shown me how vital it is to instill a love for learning at a young age.   Please don't hesitate to contact me at [email protected]
