Course Description
Welcome to Mrs. Millhausen's 5th/6th grade classroom :) This is my first year teaching in Massena, and I'm very excited to be here! I've previously taught in the Bronx, NY for 3 years, Laredo, TX for 4 years and most recently in Postdam BOCES.
This year I will be pushing into classrooms as well as pulling children out to give them more individualized instruction. I'm looking forward to working with i-Ready as a way to really improve the students' abilities through technology and using small group instruction.
I will also be working with some children to help them improve their study skill habits, and ways to self monitor completing their work.
Each day the students have the ability to earn a star while working with me. Together we've created a class contract and the students know their expectations. They need to be safe, respectful and responsible throughout the school day. If they earn the needed number of stars within the 2 week period they may earn a reward.(ie: computer time, playing with legoes, choice time, etc)
